Vinegrowers completely in tune with their terroir
Wine producers going back generations, the Vignerons de Caractère are deeply rooted in their terroirs of Vacqueyras, Gigondas, and Beaumes de Venise. They now also apply their expertise throughout the Southern Rhone Valley to offer a wide range of impeccable quality from the Côtes du Rhône, Ventoux, Châteauneuf du Pape, etc.
Respectful of their unique terroirs, and biodiversity, the Vignerons de Caractère tend their vines to have the least possible impact on the environment, as well as the local flora and fauna.
Concrete actions
Biodiversity : Bees are essential for our ecosystem ; however, it is an endangered species in Vaucluse. Consequently, honey culture and hives were re-introduced in the vineyards.
Sustainable viticulture : Controlled and organic agriculture were developed over
more than 80% of the vineyard. A diagnosis of Sustainable development is made for every farm. Trainings in sustainable development are offered to the winegrowers.
New filtration : We invest in a Tangential Filter to get a better quality of wines, to reduce by 50% water consumption and to avoid any soil presence that could be harmful for public health.
Saving energy : The Relamping helps us to save about 5.5 tons of CO2.
Waste management : Implementation of waste selection for 100% of waste.
Today 80 % of our waste are valued or recycled.
Person’s safety : Musculoskeletal disorders prevention in partnership with
M.S.A and Act Méditerrannée.
Transparency : We provide consumers and distributors with clear Information. Every packaging and documentation has the Label «Winegrowers in Sustainable development».
Social : We support the research against cancer by collecting corks on behalf of France Cancer Association.
Eco-conception : The new “Eco-Bottle” enables to lower by 20% the weight in glass. It represents a saving of 97 tons of CO2.
Optimization of the packaging : Packaging is continuously re-thought. It enabled us to save 25 tons of cardboard and 16 tons of CO2.
